Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton, Casey Johnson: High School Confidential

The sad and sordid death of baby-oil heiress and party girl Casey Johnson, friend and high school classmate of occasional actress and party girl Paris Hilton at the Convent of the Sacred Heart (where Stefani Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, also attended) stimulated the useless-facts file in Flickgrrl's lobe where she stores the names of Famous People Who Went to School Together.

Flickgrrl, lucky  to have great teachers at North Hollywood High, has long wondered the extent to which primary and secondary school -- even more than college -- shape values.

Those funny men Albert Brooks, Richard Dreyfuss and Rob Reiner were classmates at Beverly Hills High and graduated in the Class of '65. Gen X cultural markers Zach Braff and Lauryn Hill were in the same class at Columbia High in Maplewood, N.J. Philip Guston and Jackson Pollock, the ying and yang of American modern art, were friends and classmates at Manual Arts High in Los Angeles. Those titans of musical theater, singer Lena Horne and librettist/lyricist Betty Comden attended Brooklyn's Ethical Culture elementary school at the same time. (They would later collaborate on many projects both musical and political.) Future film critics Manny Farber and Pauline Kael, attended Berkeley High (in California), where he was two years ahead of her. Makes you wonder about the teachers who inspired them.

Other examples of celebrated actors, scientists, musicians and writers who went to the same secondary school at the same time?
