The first transgender bride featured on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress has found her dress, as a new clip from the program shows.
Gabrielle Gibson, 33, a South Jersey native, appeard on the show on Saturday following a fateful appointment to pick out a wedding dress at Kleinfeld’s, a New York dress store that is the homebase of Say Yes to the Dress. Gibson, born Charles Horace Gibson V, as she says in the clip, agreed to audition for the show after making an appointment at the store.
In her episode, Gibson ultimately went with a form-fitting, classic-style wedding gown. “I pretty much understand what looks good on me, but now I have a new body,” she said on the show. “I’m scared that everyone is going to think ‘Oh, she’s doing a pageant.”
Gibson showed off that dress in a photo on Instagram:

Gibson will marry her fiance, Jaden Rogers, 32, in November, according to Yahoo Style. Gibson, who works as a hairdresser, met Rogers, a transgender man and graphic designer, while living in Colorado.
“I just wanted to have an experience, and to show that we as trans people can love, and be loved, in a normal setting, and do things that are not out of the norm,” Gibson told People earlier this month. “I’m such a fan of the show, and I’ve seen people’s dreams come true, and I wanted my dreams to come true.”
Gibson may be familiar to Philadelphia-area drag fans, with the Jersey native regularly performing as Chachi Divine at area events. Chachi Divine was the first transgender contestant to win Philly Drag Wars, a Facebook posting from the competition indicates. Until recently, she also worked as a stylist at Salon Oh in Ventnor.
“She’s always full of such joy, it’s hard to ever have a bad day with her in my presence,” Rogers, Gibson’s fiance, said in an interview this mont with PinkNews. “She’s everythng and more I could have ever ask for in a partner, and I can’t wait to see her walk down the aisle.”
