Ardmore was the setting of some internet deception on MTV's "Catfish" last week. The highly addictive show, based on the 2010 documentary, seeks to unmask online-only relationships. In the Philly-centric episode, actress Tracie Thoms ("Rent," "Deathwish") wants to learn more about "super fan" Sammi, who has deceived the actress through internet adulation.

As I told you in today's column, Thoms is familiar with Philadelphia. She was here filming "McCanick," starring David Morse, in 2012, one of the final film roles of "Glee" star Cory Monteith before his death in 2013. She also starred in "Cold Case," the Philly-set crime procedural.

While in Philly filming in March, hosts Nev Schulman and Max Joseph visited the Food Trust's corner store at 16th and Ontario.

"Catfish" airs Wednesday at 10 p.m.
