This week, Media’s most famous resident will make an appearance on Spike TV’s Lip Synch Battle.
Wanda Sykes will appear on the show’s Thursday, Jan. 12 episode, when she faces off against actor Don Cheadle. In a clip shared ahead of the episode’s airing, Sykes can be seen lip synching “U.N.I.T.Y.,” a Grammy-winning track from Queen Latifah’s 1993 album, Black Reign.
Hosted by rapper and Grammy Award-winner LL Cool J and model Chrissy Teigan, Lip Sync Battle pits celebrities against one another in a head-to-head battle of the lips. Each guest lip synchs their choice of song, but only one can walk away with a win. The show began airing on Spike TV in 2015.
As Sykes told reporter Molly Eichel back in 2013, the actress splits her time between Delaware County and Los Angeles, where much of her work takes place. In 2010, Sykes starred as Miss Hannigan in Media Theatre’s production of Annie.
A report from Variety indicates that Sykes moved into Media after purchasing a “modest house” in the town in 2008. Sykes also reportedly owns a home on Los Angeles.
Lip Synch Battle airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. on Spike TV.
