Sasheer Zamata is the latest cast member to leave 'Saturday Night Live'

"Saturday Night Live" cast member Sasheer Zamata, seen here on "Weekend Update" alongside Colin Jost, is leaving the show after three seasons.

Following the finale of its most popular season in 23 years, Saturday Night Live is saying goodbye to a third cast member.

Sasheer Zamata, who joined the show in January 2014 in the wake of criticism of SNL’s less-than-diverse cast, is the latest departure in what has been a somewhat surprising exodus, considering the show's ratings success this season.

Cast members Bobby Moynihan and Vanessa Bayer are also exiting the show.

At the end of Saturday's season finale, which was hosted by Dwayne Johnson and featured an appearance by Tom Hanks, there was no acknowledgment of the departing stars, something Saturday Night Live has done historically during the closing credits.

Instead, the three, including Zamata, were hoisted up and carried out of Studio 8H once the cameras stopped rolling.

I can't imagine snl without these three absolute angels and I'm going to miss them so much ~~~#katemckinnon #holtzmann #ghostbusters #snl #sasheerzamata #vanessabayer #bobbymoynihan

Both Moynihan and Bayer announced their departures prior to Saturday's finale. NBC has not immediately returned a request for comment.

Moynihan, who has been on SNL for nine seasons (the fifth-longest-running cast member in the show’s history), is leaving to star in the new CBS comedy Me, Myself & I, which he promoted during the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers last week.

When I was a kid would tape the audio of SNL off the TV and listen to it on the bus. At the 40th I was the Land Shark. I remember watching the Mothers Day Special and seeing Chris Farley and his Mom and saying to my Mom "Maybe one day we will do that?". Two years ago she stood next to Reese Witherspoon and I on home base. 9 years and 193 episodes ago I met Lorne Michaels and some of the most amazingly kind and talented people in the world. Last night, Kenan Thompson, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin and Pete Davidson carried me off that stage for the last time as a cast member. The fifth longest running cast member of all time. I'm very proud of that and my time there. I am a huge fan of SNL. Always have been. Always will be. Endless thanks to the best and most hard working cast and crew in television. I love them so much it's stupid. So glad I got to share a final episode with friends @vanessabayer and @thesheertruth Thanks to @ucbtny Without you I would not feel like the luckiest boy in the world today. Thanks @nbcsnl I will miss you more than you know. Thank you for all the kind words. I'm gonna live forev.....

Bayer, the longest-serving current female cast member, is bowing out after seven seasons. She confirmed her exit in a farewell note she shared on Instagram prior to the show’s finale.
