'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ to feature cameo from Philly UFC fighter Paul Felder tonight

South Philadelphia native Paul Felder is known as “The Irish Dragon” in the UFC, but after Wednesday night, he just may be remembered as “the guy stuck on the toilet in that one episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

Felder, 31, will appear in Wednesday’s episode of It’s Always Sunny, dubbed “Wolf Cola: A Public Relations Nightmare.” The Philly native’s cameo will happen alongside one from the UFC’s Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, of Ohio.

FXX recently released a teaser clip to preview the It's Always Sunny episode featuring Cerrone and Felder:

As you may notice, the clip shows Felder trapped on a toilet in what appears to be a locker room bathroom. In the episode, Felder and Cerrone use Mac (Rob McElhenney) and Charlie’s (Charlie Day) Fight Milk, a protein drink made with milk, crow’s eggs, and alcohol, to make themselves sick and cut weight.

The drink first appeared in the seventh episode of It's Always Sunny’s eighth season, “Frank’s Back in Business," when the guys film a mock commercial calling the drink “the first alcoholic, dairy-based protein drink by bodyguards, for bodyguards.”

This, however, is not the first time Felder and Cerrone have worked with It's Always Sunny co-creator Rob McElhenney. As the Associated Press reported in Jan. 2016, the trio previously spent time together at a fight ranch in Albuquerque, New Mexico where McElhenney stayed in order to write a screenplay. McElhenney is a noted UFC fan, and appeared on an episode of Cerrone’s podcast in 2015.

In addition to his work with the UFC, Felder is also an actor who graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2008, which led to a theater career in the city. The Inquirer's Howard Shapiro wrote that Felder gave "his character a sense of constant anger" in his 2012 performance as Kent in the Philadelphia Theater Company's production of reasons to be pretty. Felder’s “talent for subtly,” however, was previously “lost in a trio of increasingly silly supporting roles” in Act II Playhouse’s 2011 run of Sylvia, writes the Inquirer's Wendy Rosenfeld.

Felder will next face off in the UFC against Alessandro Ricci at UFC Fight Night 105 on Feb. 19 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Cerrone is scheduled to fight Jorge Masvidal at UFC Fight Night Denver on Jan. 28.

It’s Always Sunny is currently in the midst of its 12th season, which opened in early January with “The Gang Turns Black,” a controversial episode that set an FXX record for the network’s most-watched telecast. The program airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FXX.
