Jul 30 (TheWrap.com) - Allison Williams will take to the air as Peter Pan for NBC.

The “Girls” star, and daughter of NBC News anchor Brian Williams, has been cast as the iconic forever-boy hero in “Peter Pan Live!,” the peacock's December 4th live telecast. Christopher Walken was previously announced as the production's Captain Hook.

“I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true,” Williams said. “It's such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I'm very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides, what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?”

Williams, a classically trained singer, has recorded songs for the “Girls” soundtrack. She has also appeared on sitcoms “The Mindy Project” and “The League.”

NBC aired the Mary Martin-starring Broadway production of “Peter Pan” on live TV in 1955.
