The NY Daily News is reporting that on Thursday, during a taping of the Late Show, David Letterman announced that he will be retiring in 2015.

The NY Daily News is reporting that on Thursday, during a taping of the Late Show, David Letterman announced that he will be retiring in 2015.

There is no official word yet from Dave or the show, but the news first spread through Twitter by Mike Mills, who is a musician performing on tonight’s episode with Joseph Arthur:

In October, Letterman extended his contract with CBS through 2015. Letterman will have hosted Late Show for 22 years, and before that NBC’s Late Night for 11 years.
