DIY Network will explore renovating and flipping Philadelphia properties with a local female contractor and real estate agent in a show pilot airing this weekend.
Dubbed Philly Street Flippin’, the show tags along with Hestia Construction, a Philly-based, female-owned construction and real estate company led by contractor, designer, and realtor Rachel Street. The show is produced The Michael Group, which has worked on shows and special’s such as Animal Witness: The Michael Vick Case and Underground BBQ Challenge,
Philly Street Flippin' premieres with a 30-minute pilot on Saturday, March 25 at 8 p.m. on DIY Network. The network has not yet decided if the show will go to series, a representative said. As Street wrote in a Facebook post, that decision “depends heavily on ratings.”
Should the show be picked up, it will serve as DIY’s first Philadelphia-based series. The pilot will feature an East Passyunk home that Street’s Hestia Construction recently renovated at 1042 Tasker St.
The show’s premiere date, Street wrote in Facebook, is a sentimental one, as March 25 is her late father’s birthday.
“While he is not here with us to celebrate, this coincidence is so special to me because he is the one that got me started in the real estate business,” Street wrote.
