Cee Lo is ‘not coming back at all’ to ‘The Voice’

Us Philadelphians might be seeing Cee Lo Green when he comes to town with Lionel Ritchie on his “All the Hits All Night Long” tour, but fans of The Voice are out of luck—he says he’s done with the show after four seasons. For good.

Green made the announcement on today’s ELLEN, saying that he is “going to continue my relationship with NBC.” However, as far as serving as a mentor on The Voice for a season, Green says “I’m not coming back, guys.” Pretty clear language on his part, but eponymous host Ellen DeGeneres still pressed him for clarification.

“I’m not coming back at all,” he clarified. “I don’t want to wear out my welcome there. You know what I’m saying? I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album.”

So there you go: While we might be losing a mentor, we’re gaining a Cee Lo Green album. Such is the circle of entertainment.
