Berwyn microbiologist to appear on ‘Jeopardy!’ this week

Reading-area native Neil G. Uspal’s run on Jeopardy! ended Monday night, but the show will feature another Pennsylvanian later this week.

Lisa Schlitt, a microbiologist from Berwyn, will compete on the long-running quiz show on Friday, Jan. 27, according to a release. Jeopardy! airs at 7 p.m. on 6ABC.

Schlitt’s appearance follows a three-show run from Uspal, who walked away with two victories and $25,400 in total winnings on Monday, according to fan site j-archive.com. A Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia-trained doctor, Uspal now works at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

This season marks Jeopardy’s 33rd season in syndication. The show has won a record 33 Daytime Emmy awards since its syndication began in 1984.
