Animal Planet greenlights series on Penn vet school

Animal Planet will turn their camera to the University of Pennsylvania's veterinary school for their upcoming docu-series Penn Vet.

The series will focus on both Philadelphia's Ryan Hospital for companion animals and Kennett Square's New Bolton Center hospital for large animals. The series is set to debut this year.

It's a docuseries, so less Grey's Anatomy with animals as one might hope. The series will focus on the rigorous traning these students get.

Penn Vet is regularly in the top of U.S. News and World's top veterinary schools in the country. Producers High Noon Entertainment (behind such shows as Cake Boss) chose Penn Vet because of their reputation for pioneering fields of veterinary care, including housing the first facility for care of critically injured large animals, the first state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgery suite, the first recovery pool for equine orthopedic surgeries the world’s first animal bloodmobile.
