Veteran Today show personality Al Roker had a bumpy start to his Tuesday morning.

The 58-year-old slept through Wake Up With Al, his 6 a.m. early show on The Weather Channel, marking his first time ever sleeping through a program.

"After 39 years, it happened," he tweeted. "I overslept and missed a show."

Roker managed to make it on time for the Today show, where he was taunted mercilessly by the co-hosts of the morning program. Matt Lauer said, "I tweeted out 'Rip Van Roker' and I'm getting a lot of tweets back saying that they thought it was 'RIP Al Roker.' That's not what it said if you read carefully. That's not what it said."
