7 things you need to know about local 'Voice' finalist Christina Grimmie

She’s been called the ‘Queen of YouTube Musicians.’

She’s toured internationally with Selena Gomez.

Now, 20-year-old Marlton, NJ native Christina Grimmie is the second youngest contestant on ‘The Voice’ to have a shot at the big win. Here are seven things you need to know about this South Jersey hometown hero:

1. Grimmie took up piano, which she plays primarily by ear, when she was 10.

2. She has a massive social media following with 567,000 Twitter followers, nearly 300,000 Instagram followers and over 2.6 million YouTube subscribers to date.

3. The first cover Grimmie posted to her YouTube channel, zeldaxlove64, was ‘Don’t Wanna be Torn’ by Hannah Montana. Her ‘Party in the USA’ cover kicked off her YouTube stardom.

4. Grimmie is a serious gamer. Her YouTube channel name references her favorite video game, The Legend of Zelda.

5. In 2012, Grimmie and her family moved to Los Angeles after Grimmie began touring with Disney actress-turned-pop star Selena Gomez.

6. The thing she misses most about Marlton is Sal’s Pizza Works which she said has, “the greatest pizza ever.”

7. Grimmie has already released an EP called 'Find Me' and an LP, 'With Love.' 'Find Me,' released in 2011, reached 35 on the Billboard 200 chart.
