Rocky ratings for ‘How I Met Your Mother’

POSTED: Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 2:14 PM
Few were listening as Ted and Barney got their mariachi on.

Was something going on last night that I didn’t know about? Maybe you were catching up with all the juicy shows you DVRed on Sunday night.

But Monday night’s network lineup suffered some serious damage almost across the board. The biggest loser (and in ratings, unlike poundage, that ain’t a good thing) was How I Met Your Mother.

The CBS sitcom dropped 13% to a season low of 7.2 million viewers. That set off a chain reaction as 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly also fell. Oddly, Two and a Half Men saw a slight rise (to 11 million viewers).

Dancing With the Stars had the largest audience on ABC with 16.3 million, but that was down 7%. NBC’s The Voice fell 10% (from previous Monday night performance shows) to 9.9 million viewers, but NBC will take that because the show still had considerably more watchers in the 18-49 year old bracket than DWTS.

NBC’s Smash dipped 5% despite the appearance of Uma Thurman. ABC’s Castle which has been showing some surprising muscle this season, was up a tick to 11.5 million.

So come on. You can tell Dave. What were you all doing last night?

Is it possible that 13% of the show's viewers finally realized that it sucks?

Sorry to say, Dave, How I Met has never been on my radar. Do not like it. Like 2 Broke Girls and love Mike & Molly. I laugh out loud at that show (M & M). There are a lot of shows on Sunday!! Likely I can DVR & catch the rest On Demand.
