Last Call for Tech Award Nominations

Has your Pennsylvania-based company or school  made great strides in technology this year? There is still time, barely, to enter a nomination for 2012 PA Tech Awards.

Sponsored by TechQuest, a catalyst for technology business development in the state,  the awards honor winners in nine categories:

Best Application of Technology; Growth Company of the Year; Oustanding Leadership in Technology; Public Service Innovation; Technology Company of the Year; Technology Educator of the Year; Technology Product of the Year;  Technology Provider of the Year.

And yes, it's perfectly fine to toot your own horn. "We encourage companies and individuals from throughout Pennsylvania to nominate their business, organization, clients, peers and even themselves for an award," declaresTechQuest's mission statement.

But as warned, time's running out  - with a deadline of Wednesday Feb. 1 - to get nominations in and posted (for all to see and share) at the event's new website,

Each person or company can be nominated for up to three categories. Once chosen by an independent panel of judges,  winners will be  honored on March 30 at the 2012 Pennsylvania Technology Awards Gala, held at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg.  Haven't heard anything about Ricky Gervais or Billy Crystal emceeing, though.

Sponsors of the PA  Tech Awards include Comcast Business Class, HP, Highmark Blue Shield and JPL.
