Pop star Katy Perry announced the official coming of her new album, Prism, earlier this week with banner-like golden trucks in Los Angeles and details on the record’s first single.

The singer has been through quite a bit since 2010’s Teenage Dreams: a divorce, multiple hair color changes and falling in love with John Mayer. So, it seems mighty appropriate that “Roar!” is the title of her first single. She’s rumored to have collaborated with artists like songstress Sia and producer Dr. Luke; also she’s considering taking musical influence from the ‘90s.

The album will be released on October 22

DJ Shadow

The acclaimed DJ Shadow is bringing his unique blends of hip hop sampling to Philadelphia’s Starlight Ballroom on Saturday, September 14.

Although Dj Shadow should be best known for his legendary 1996 album, Entroducing–which was made with 100% sampled music–most will recall his calamity of evening while DJing at popular Miami nightclub, Mansion. Owners of the club ejected Shadow from his spot on the turntables claiming that his music was “too future” for their venue. The club later issued an apology.

Tickets for the upcoming show can be purchased here (18+ event). The tour is in support of his latest LP, All Basses Covered.

Justin Timberlake’s latest single “Take Back the Night” finally has a funky new music video to go with.

According to press release for the vid, it ”harkens back to the days when nightlife ruled (New York) and beckons everyone within earshot that the night holds endless possibilities,” and we couldn’t agree more

The song is off of The 20/20 Experience Pt. 2, which is due out September 30. Justin Timberlake and Jay Z come to Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park as a part of the Legends of Summer tour on August 13.

Last week, DJ Khaled’s painfully awkward video proposal to Nicki Minaj was met with confusion, confusion and more confusion.

Well, it turns out that the music producer's act of love was a sham! The proposal was all just a part of the promotion for a new track called “I Wanna Be With You,” featuring Minaj, and his new album, Suffering From Success–which arrives on September 24.

Nicki first spoke of the shocking proposal on Hot 97. She said, “I was shocked just like the rest of the world and I was cracking up laughing with the rest of the world ’cause Khaled is a master at what he does.” She added, “Khaled is my brother and Khaled was not serious with that damn proposal, ya’ll. Please let it go. He was kidding.”
