In 2008, Kanye West was signed-up and ready to become an HBO star in a single-camera operated improv comedy show loosely based on the rapper’s life.
The show was an oddball, improv comedy in the style of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Delocated and Arrested Development. When it came down to debuting the show, HBO decided it was “too hardcore” for the network–said executive producer Larry Charles. Charles also executive produces Curb.
In this released scene, Kanye goes to surprise a child from the Make A Wish Foundation and only to find out that the kid would have rather met someone like Lil’ Wayne–basically, West makes fun of his own ego. The footage was uploaded to YouTube by actress Alison Quinn–she's the woman holding the hand held camera–as a part of her actress real.
