Pitchfork reports that on Thursday, September 12, indie-rockers Vampire Weekend will be guest editing the daily edition of the Metro newspaper in New York, Boston and Philadelphia.

Band members Ezra Koenig, Rostam Batmanglij, Chris Tomson and Chris Baio have been working with the Metro staff as assistant editors to decide what news will go into Thursday’s version of the free publication. This is not a first for the media outlet; Lady Gaga was a global guest-editor-in-chief for the paper in 2011.

The NYC Vampire Weekend-edited edition of the Metro will include a “special section devoted to the best foods of New York City.”

Vampire Weekend is scheduled to kick off their tour in support of their latest album, Modern Vampires of the City, in Philadelphia on Thursday, September 19 at the Mann Center’s Skyline Stage. Tickets are sold out, but you can always try craigslist.
