Twitter launches new #Music app

It was exclusively announced today on "Good Morning America" that Twitter has launched its very own Music discovery app.

Twitter #Music is an app and web service that allows you to find and stream tracks based on what artists you follow, what music is trending and what your taste is.

On the web, you can sort by Popular, Suggested, Now Playing or Me. The simple grid layout displays a collage of artists with their Twitter profile image, their display name and their handle. When you roll over an artist, a play button appears in which you can click to trigger a pop up player in the bottom left hand corner. The player streams an iTunes preview of the selected artist's latest tracks. You can also tweet the track as you listen and if you want to hear a full song, it can redirect you to Spotify or Rdio.

The iPhone app is supposed to be available today, but at the moment it's hard to come by upon searching the App Store. However, you can get a full preview of the interface by signing into your Twitter account on the web.
