Brooklyn disco orchestra Escort have been dubbed NYC’s best live band by both The New York Post and Time Out New York—a title that doesn’t come easily in America’s most musical city. But then again, Escort are not your typical band.

A 17-piece monolith, complete with brass, strings, and sultry back-up singers, Escort rile crowds with their insanely danceable, high-energy tunes, which recast ‘70s-style disco with a modern bent. Formed in the early aughts as a recording project for Vassar students Dan Balis and Eugene Cho, Escort first turned heads with a stream of successful singles, before amassing a live band in 2006. Since then, their live concerts have become the stuff of legends, channeling Saturday Night Fever and Studio 54 with their fun, feverish tunes. Before you go: stream vampy new single “Cabaret,” and polish your dancing shoes. Plus arrive early for openers/co-headliners JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound, whose vintage-inspired, boogie-down jamz are guaranteed to have your toes tapping.

8:00 at the TLA, 334 South St., $15. Tickets available here.
