This fall, Animal Collective—the weird, wonderful rockers behind 2009’s Merriweather Post Pavilion, and other delights—will be resident DJs at South Philly dance club The Dolphin, with sets once a month on September 10, October 1, and November 13. Geologist (Brian Weitz), Deakin (Josh Dibb), and Avey Tare (Dave Portner) will all be on hand for two or more dates, spinning club standards and hopefully some deep cuts too—and turning the Dolphin into the futuristic summer dance party you always dreamed of.

The last time we saw these dudes spin, energy flowed like the synth trills on standout single “My Girls” and everyone left satiated. We have a feeling this fall will be no different.

Check out Stereogum’s round-up of the 10 best AC songs to get psyched—and we’ll see you on the dance floor this fall.

September 10, October 1, and November 13 at The Dolphin Tavern, 1539 S. Broad St. More info available here.
