Katy Perry to bring ‘Witness’ tour to Wells Fargo Center in September

This fall, Katy Perry is coming to town.

The pop superstar will perform at the Wells Fargo Center on Sept. 18 as part of her newly announced “Witness: The Tour.” Kicking off Sept. 7 in Columbus, Ohio, the tour is Perry’s followup to 2015’s “Prismatic World Tour,” which brought her to Philly in 2014.

The “Witness” tour will support Perry’s upcoming album Witness, out June 9 via Capitol Records. The release so far has spawned singles “Chained to the Rhythm” featuring Skip Marley, and “Bon Appétit” featuring Migos.

Tickets go on sale to the general public starting May 22 at 10 a.m. Ticketmaster Verified Fan will host an advance pre-sale starting May 18 at 9 a.m. Each ticket purchased will include a pre-order of Witness.

While Perry hasn’t done a large-scale tour since her "Prismatic" tour wrapped in 2015, the entertainer has performed in Philly a couple times since then. Perry played a local gig in November last year, headlining an event in support of Hillary Clinton’s bid for president. Prior to that, Perry performed at the Democratic National Convention in July 2016.

The “Roar” hitmaker will appear on the season finale of Saturday Night Live on May 20. In the meantime, watch the video for Perry’s “Chained to the Rhythm” below:
