Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer to play the Wells Fargo Center this summer

Composer Hans Zimmer, who has scored films from The Lion King to The Dark Knight, will perform live in Philadelphia as part of his North American “Hans Zimmer Live on Tour” tour this summer.

The Academy, Grammy, and Golden Globe-winning Zimmer will perform with his orchestra at the Wells Fargo Center Saturday, Jul 22 at 8 p.m.. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, April 7 at 10 a.m. via the Wells Fargo Center website and box office, or by phone at 1-800-298-4200.

Zimmer will kick off the tour, his first in North America, on April 14 in Los Angeles before moving on to Australia and Europe in May. The tour will also bring the composer back to his home town of Frankfurt, Germany on June 9.

Audiences can expect Zimmer and his orchestra to play music from some of the composer’s most beloved scores, including Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Interstellar. A release notes that “special guests from the rock and pop world” will also be part of the show.

"Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled to tour all across the US this summer." Zimmer said via that release. "I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before."

In addition to his upcoming tour dates, Zimmer will also perform on both Sundays of this year’s Coachella festival, April 16 and 23.
