Two well-respected musical minds, Aimee Mann and Ted Leo, have recently come together for a project of their very own.

What began as the occasional collaboration turned into something they became dedicated to and have a full album in the works planned for a mid-2014 release. The Both, as Mann and Leo call themselves, melts each artist’s style combining folk, rock and melodicism with the same soul and passion from their own projects.

The pair came together at the opening of South Broad Street venue Boot & Saddle and now The Both will be performing on a larger stage at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer on Saturday, May 3.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan. 24 at noon.
