The hammer-wielding hero is back.
The first teaser trailer for "Thor: The Dark World" dropped Monday evening, and things are looking dim and dark for the Norse god of Thunder and the Nine Realms.
The film picks up after the events of The Avengers, where Thor has returned to his home realm of Asgard, where a terrible race of Dark Elves is threatening the realms, including Planet Earth. So of course Thor does what any good boyfriend would do, and brings the love of his life Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) back to Asgard, where a love triangle involving another Asgardian warrior (played by Jaime Alexander) emerges. Love aside, the film would not be complete without the return of Thor's menace of a brother, Loki, played by Tom Hiddleston.
"Game of Thrones" veteran director Alan Taylor takes over the follow-up to the 2011 film, which was directed by Kenneth Branaugh. Based on the trailer and what we know of Taylor's visual style, we expect plenty of fantasy action and stunning sequences to fill the anticipated superhero film.
