See the trailer for Philly-shot rowing film 'Backwards'

Remember when James Van Der Beek was in Philly? Here's why.

"Backwards," directed by local Ben Hickernell ("Lebanon, PA") features Sarah Megan Thomas as "a female athlete who is an alternate on the Women's Olympic rowing team and returns home, where she picks up a romance with her boss, played by Van Der Beek," according to Dan Gross.

Gross also hooked up with Van Der Beek at Philadelphia magazine's Best of Philly party, where Van Der Beek relayed some funny anectotes about his past alter-ego, Dawson Leery.

There's no official release date yet but we're told the filmmakers are looking at a September release date.
