James Brown biopic 'Get On Up' trailer features Philly's Jill Scott

The hardest working man in show business is about to get the hardest working biopic in history thanks to Universal Pictures Get On Up, which got its first theatrical trailer this week. And, surprise, Philly fans-it features Philly's neo-soul queen, Jill Scott.

The hardest working man in show business is about to get the hardest working biopic in history thanks to Universal Pictures Get On Up, which got its first theatrical trailer this week. And, surprise, Philly fans—it features Philly’s neo-soul queen, Jill Scott.

Directed by The Help’s Tate Talor, Get On Up follows the Godfather of Soul on his journey from the streets of Augusta, George to his place as one of the most revered performers of the 20th century. Chadwick Boseman of 42 fame stars as Brown, and features appearances from Craig Robinson, Tika Sumpter, Viola Davis, and others, in addition to Scott’s role. 

The release date for this one is August 1, so we’ve still got a little time to wait before we can take it all in. But, in the mean time, check out the trailer below:
