Idris Elba in talks to star in Guy Ritchie's 'Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur'

Jul 21 ( - There's a “RocknRolla” reunion on the horizon, as Idris Elba is in talks to co-star in Guy Ritchie‘s “Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur” an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap.

Elba is not circling the lead role of Arthur, but rather an older Knight named Bedivere, Arthur's father's right-hand man who takes it upon himself to train the young warrior for battle as he learns his true destiny.

Joby Harold wrote the script and will produce with his Safehouse Pictures partner Tory Tunnell, as well as Akiva Goldsman and Lionel Wigram.

Warner Bros. will release Ritchie's medieval movie on July 22, 2016 release.

Elba next stars in the home invasion thriller “No Good Deed” and the Sean Penn action movie “The Gunman,” as well as Cary Fukunaga's “Beasts of No Nation.” He'll also voice Shere Khan in Disney's “The Jungle Book.”

Elba is represented by WME.
