The Awesome Fest, the city-wide screening festival, just scheduled a slate of '80s flicks to screen at Liberty Lands Park (N. 3rd between Poplar and W. Wiley sts.) in Northern Liberties. All screenings start at sundown and admission is free with a BYOB&B (Bring Your Own Blankey and Beer) policy in place.

Check the schedule:

June 28 – The Blues Brothers (1980)

July 5 – Stripes (1981)

July 12 – The Road Warrior (1982)

July 19 – National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983)

July 26 – Ghostbusters (1984) MARSHMALLOW ROAST!

August 2 – Pee Wee’s Big Adventure  (1985)

August 9 – Top Gun (1986)

August 16 – Predator (1987)

August 23 – Beetlejuice (1988)

August 30 – The Wizard (1989) - Video game tournament to follow on the big screen.

"Our dedication to celebrating independent cinema is the backbone of our endeavors," fest founder Josh Goldbloom said in a statement, "but I’m also a pretty huge fan of Michael Keaton, commandos fighting jungle aliens, John Candy mud wrestling scenes, and the movie ‘Top Gun.'"

We hear ya', Josh.
