Whitney possessed the best voice I've ever heard! Unfortunately, there's a generation that won't know about her talent, only about her demons. How ironic her first single was recorded with Teddy whose own life and career was tragically cut short.

    RIP Whitney.

"Didn't We Almost Have it All" I believe was written with reference to her relationship with Randall Cunningham I believe. I know back in the 80's she was at some of the home games....RIP Whitney

Whitney was one of the greatest voice in the industry and it's a great lost. Hold me with Teddy P is a classic with both artists at there prime vocally.

Whitney was one of the worlds most gifted vocalists. Unfortunately, her life succumbed to prescription pills that ended her 48-year young life. I feel so bad for her daughter and mother. It must be a hard reality for Houston's family and friends that she is gone. I'll never forget first listening to Houston at a young age and thinking, "DAMN! What a gift!" Her voice made me want to sing, dance, laugh, have fun, and overall just want to be her! I envy those vocal cords, but now, they will be sadly missed.

Carlos, i agree. She had one of the most iconic voices in the industry and she truly reshaped the industry for the female vocalist. This is truly a terrible loss.

Having been born in '89 , I didn't even really know who she was, other than that she was one of the many voices on the radio....I didn't even know her name. I do know however, that i recognized her brilliant voice, and that her voice takes me back to my childhood faster than others. "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" was a consistant background soundtrack to my childhood summers. I'll never, ever forget her singing "If You Just Believe", with Maria Carie for the animated film "Prince of Egypt"...To this day it is still one of my favorite songs. Parallel to that, she was the fairy god mother in the remake of Roger's and Hammerstien's "Cinderella" in the 90s. My first time seeing what she looked like. Her physical appearance matched her beautiful voice. I never knew much about her as a person. Knew nothing about what the tabloids were saying but it certainly says a lot about how inspirational someone's life was to society when a child can say years later that that voice will forever be embedded in their psyche. She was just like anyone of us, just with a beautiful talent...and just like the rest of us, she had her demons...Thousands of people die from deaths like hers everyday. Unfortunately, hers was magnified by stardom. She will be missed by millions. RIP.

Whitney's death was a tragedy world wide. People loved her voice, her enthusiasm, her light that she shined on the world. Her voice in of itself was so powerful and moving. We tend to put celebrities on a pedestal and think that they are nothing like us, their lives are perfect. THis is not the case, they have their demons while we have ours and it is so sad that her life ended because of them.
