Don Argott just wanted to make a documentary about metal band Lamb of God. But it became about more than that when LoG lead singer Randy Blythe was arrested for manslaughter while touring the Czech Republic.

Local documentarian Argott is best known for his Philly-centric documentaries, "Rock School," about the Paul Green School of Rock, and "The Art of the Steal," about controveries surrounding the Barnes Foundation move.He and his editor, Demian Fenton, perform in instrumental metal band Serpent Throne.

The film, "As the Palaces Burn," so named for the band's 2003 LP, will debut at International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam next month. No word yet on a Philly date.
