The Miss Universe Organization is filing a lawsuit against former Miss Pennsylvania contestant Sheena Monnin for saying that the pageant is rigged. This morning, Monnin restated her beliefs on "Today," claiming that the top 5 were predetermined. Miss Universe is claiming that Monnin gave up her crown because she disagreed with the organization's decision to allow transgender contestants into the pageant.
The Daily News' own Jenice Armstrong wrote a column deriding Miss Universe/Miss USA owner Donald Trump's threats to sue Monnin. Apparently, he didn't listen.
TMZ reports the lawsuits were not filed in a public court because the Miss Universe contracts stipulates that any litigation be handled through private arbitration. Speaking to one of Donald Trump's lawyers, they reported, "the Miss Universe team has filed two separate causes of action -- both seeking big bucks. How much? We're told, 'Significant damages.'"
Right or wrong, how much can the 27-year-old prospective theological student have?
