Philly rapper Lil Uzi Vert gets meme treatment after 20-foot stage dive

Over the weekend, North Philadelphia-born rapper Lil Uzi Vert stage-dived his way into Internet history and became a meme thanks to a reported 20-foot leap into the crowd at Miami’s Rolling Loud music festival.

Vert, real name Symere Woods, 22, stopped by the festival on Sunday, when during a rendition of “Money Longer,” the rapper took a massive stage-dive into the crowd. As Vibe reports, Vert fell about 20 feet to the ground during the stunt at the festival’s Monster Energy Stage.

NME called Vert’s leap the “stage dive to end all stage dives.” HotNewHipHop, meanwhile, called it the “greatest of all stage dives.” Vert, for his part, seemed proud of the stunt, and posted several clips of the incident to his Instagram account.

The Internet at large, however, turned Vert’s stage dive into a meme. Using one particular image of the jump, folks inserted Vert into all kinds of situations. Even P. Diddy got a good one in:

Vert has since set a photo of his jump as his Twitter banner, so there appears to be no shame on the rapper’s part. The “You Was Right” hitmaker, as hip-hop blog Rap-Up reports, is known as somewhat of a daredevil, with recent incidents showing Vert crowd surfing and running from fans at live shows.

The Philly native was also arrested in December last year in connection with a dirt bike chase in Atlanta. Vert was booked on charges included obstruction, reckless driving, and other traffic violations in that case.

Vert is currently riding high off the release of “XO TOUR Llif3,” which the rapper released in Febuary. The track is set to appear on his upcoming LUV Is Rage 2, an upcoming project for which a release date has not yet been announced.
