Philadelphia fans mourn death of actress Carrie Fisher

As news of Carrie Fisher’s death spread Tuesday, Philly fans mourned the late actress on social media, posting messages in her memory.

Fisher died in Los Angeles on Tuesday at age 60. Her death followed a trip to UCLA Medical Center on Friday after the actress went into cardiac arrest aboard a flight from London to Los Angeles.

Fisher, daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Philadelphia-born Eddie Fisher, found fame initially in 1977 with the release of Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope, in which she played the iconic Princess Leia.

She went on to appear in When Harry Met Sally, The Blues Brothers, and Wonderland, among other films and television shows. Off-screen, Fisher was a noted mental health advocate.
