Relationship, wrecked.

Reps for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth confirmed Monday that the two stars have called off their engagement.

The end of their pending nuptials follows a strained year between the two, involving several break-ups, make-ups and rumors of alleged infidelity on Hemsworth's end.

Addressing rampant speculation over the couple's reported relationship woes, Cyrus, 20, dispelled rumors that she and her fiance, 23, had split during a June Good Morning America appearance. She said in the interview, "I'm wearing a ring, so..."

Cyrus and Hemsworth first met on the set of The Last Song in 2010. Following a whirlwind romance, the two got engaged in May 2012. The former Disney star said at the time, "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam." Hemsworth proposed with a 3.5-carat Neil Lane diamond, which has subsequently been seen on-and-off Cyrus' left ring finger fueling rumors of their rocky relationship.

Though the couple never set an official wedding date, citing that neither was in a rush to hurry down the aisle, sources close to the situation said one major problem in the relationship was Miley's "hypersexual new image"- which sparked enormous amounts of backlash following her 2013 MTV VMAs' performance with Robin Thicke.

Cyrus hinted at further issues within the relationship after she unfollowed Hemsworth on Twitter this past weekend.

Hemsworth will appear in the Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire, on Nov. 22. Leading up to the film's premiere, he is expected to give interviews and make appearances around the world alongside his co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.

Cyrus, meanwhile, will release a new album called "Bangerz," which is set to debut Oct. 8. Her current hits include "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball."
