GossipGoreGeeks seeking to gorge on more juicy, R-rated details from the Jennifer Lopez-Marc Anthony split are in for a shock, a surprise, a deeply hurtful let-down: Marc insists there was nothing in the least bit scandalous, sordid, squalid, or sleazy behind the couple’s breakup.

“I'll tell you that it wasn't something sensationalistic happening,” Marc tells ABC News' John Quiñones  in his first big-media heart-to-heart since he and Jen announced six weeks ago that they were divorcing after six years of wedded (un?)-bliss.

“People are trying to peg it on things because it was so shocking. It was like, it must have been

something…It wasn't something sensationalistic.”

Says Marc to the chagrin of sleaze-eaters the world over, the real truth, the real reason, the total truthy truth and really-real reality is much more mundane, suburban, middle-America.

The marriage wasn't working. As simple as that.

“This is just two people who came together and just realized – and so I'm saying that it wasn't sustainable the way it was, and that’s that,” says Marc in a two-part chat set to air Thursday morn on Good Morning America and that eve on Nightline.

“It was a realization on both our parts. … It wasn't shocking. These things happen.”

So, um, are rumors true that Marc, 42, did that mundane, All-American middle-of-the-road thing – cheat on his spouse with a smokin’ siren half his age?

“Absolutely not,” says Marc with virile truthian confidence.

So confident, he mocks the tabloid reports.

“It was a flight attendant, it was the pilot – I heard it was this guy sitting next to me in a rehab in Houston. I’ve heard it all,” Marc jokes.

He’s equally dismissive of rumors he was a controlling, Napoleon-complex-stricken man who felt emasculated by J.Lo’s massive success as a judge on American Idol.

“I think anybody will tell you how I supported her, from day one. I'm really, really happy for her,” Marc shoots back.

What of the future?

Marc says one thing will never change: he will never abandon or bring hurt to his children, three-year-old twins, Max and Emme.

“I’m always going to be Daddy. … And they're used to me traveling and Jennifer traveling and, you know, we speak all the time, and try to maintain that presence,” says Marc.

(Will there be a custody war? Most reports indicate both parents seeks joint custody, though there are tabloid whispers J.Lo may angle for full custody of the kids.)

And Marc’s feelings for J.Lo?

“I'll always love Jennifer. Yes. I'll always love Jennifer. She knows that,” he says.

“Jennifer’s a wonderful, wonderful woman, a wonderful mother, a wonderful friend, you know. We understand this to be a long story. This is not a short story.” (Not even a Raymond Carver story?)

Nor, alas, is it a scandal-, murder-, adultery-, incest-ridden Jacobean drama in the order of John Ford’s luscious classic, ‘Tis Pity She's a Whore.
