Madonna banned from movie theater chain for texting

Madonna couldn’t keep her phone in her purse while attending the premiere of Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave at the New York Film Festival this weekend.

Page Six reports that the Material Girl was busy texting as the lights went down for the start of the show. When a movie goer kindly asked Madonna to give it a rest, she snapped back: “It’s for business… enslaver!”

Texas-based movie theater chain Alamo Drafthouse Cinema has a very strict no-talking, no-texting policy at all of their locations. When the company’s founder and CEO Tim League caught wind of Madonna’s antics, he tweeted: “Until she apologizes to movie fans, Madonna is banned from watching movies @drafthouse.”

When asked by Entertainment Weekly if League’s statement was serious, he replied, “Yeah, I’m serious, but I don’t think it really affects her life that much.”
