The Philly native has performed several surprise comedy sets in the city since he returned home earlier this year to film Untouchable with Bryan Cranston and Nicole Kidman. Hart previously performed at Warmdaddy’s in South Philly in February, followed by a surprise 20-minute set at a Helium Comedy Club show headlined by Keith Robinson last week.
Hart’s proposed upcoming comedy tour will feature some of the comedian’s first new material since his blockbuster “What Now?” tour. That material from that tour, which Billboard reports as the highest grossing comedy tour of all time, is featured in Kevin Hart: What Now?, which was filmed at Lincoln Financial Field.
City Council last week officially named July 6 “Kevin Hart Day” in Philadelphia. In response to the honor, Hart wrote on social media that “summers will never be the same again.”
The comedian previously was spotted driving around Philly in a Ferrari with Untouchable co-star Cranston while working on the film. Currently, most remaining shoots are scheduled to take place at Sun Center Studios in Aston. HughE Dillon, however, reports that a final Philly-based shoot is set to take place the week of March 27.
