Kevin Hart to host VMAs

The best part of the 2011 ceremony returns.

Kevin Hart to host VMAs

North Philly's own Kevin Hart will host this year's MTV Video Music Awards. Hart was the best part of last year's VMAs, performing the opening monologue and various video skits (including our favorite with Wiz Khalifa and Rick Ross. "Pretty trees.") and he proved himself once again with the 2011 BET Awards.

Hart's announcement came via the video below starring apparent It Couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, which is the first time we've found the fame-hungry couple at all likable.

We talked to Hart about growing up in Philly and his wildly popular "Laugh at My Pain" stand-up movie last year.

The VMAs will be broadcast from the Staples Center in LA on September 6.
