She wasn't kidding when she said she was "ready to get married again" in an interview published several weeks ago.
Katie Couric is engaged to her boyfriend of two years, John Molner.
Her spokesman confirmed the news to the Associated Press Tuesday morning after People first broke the news. Molner proposed to Couric in the Hamptons over the weekend.
This is the 56-year-old's second marriage. A widow since 1998, Couric lost her first husband, Jay Monahan, to colon cancer. Together, the couple had two daughters who are now aged 21 and 17.
Couric has been a hot commodity over the years - beauty, brains, compassion - but she never found "The One."
Molner, 50, is the head of mergers and acquisitions and a partner at investment firm Brown Brothers Harriman.
As for the ABC News special correspondent's thoughts on marriage, she says, "I think being married has benefiits — it’s harder to walk away when you have that piece of paper."
Couric's talk show, Katie, returns Sept. 9 for its second season.
