Reality TV star Kate Gosselin filed a federal lawsuit in Philadelphia on Monday against her ex-husband alleging that he stole her hard drive and hacked into her personal items to gather information for his tell-all book.

The multi-million dollar suit accuses Jon Gosselin of hacking into his ex-wife's computer and phone so that he could gather material for a book called "Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World," which is written by a close friend of his, Robert Hoffman, also named as a defendant.

The suit, which was first obtained and published by anti-bullying site BullyVille, alleges the following:

"After the couple was separated, Jon illegally hacked into Kate’s email account and her phone and bank accounts."

“Jon also stole a hard drive from Kate’s house, which contained private and confidential material. Jon the gave them the contents of Kate’s email account and the hard drive, all of which were acquired illegality, to his friend and business partner, tabloid reporter Robert Hoffman."

“Hoffman used the illegally acquired data to publish a defamatory book about Kate … the book was removed from large distributors like Amazon.com because the information was obtained illegally."

“Nevertheless, the damage was done with the release of the personal and private information and the defendants continue to possess this illegally obtained private information.”

The couple, both Berks County natives, starred in a popular TLC reality series "Jon & Kate Plus 8" with their eight children. The Gosselins were married for 10 years before they separated in 2009 and divorced.

Kate, a former nurse who runs a coupon website, currently lives in Sinking Spring. Jon, meanwhile, a former IT professional, lives in a "small cabin" in Wyomissing, 30-minutes away from his kids and ex-wife.

Just last month, Jon described his relationship with his ex-wife as "civil."

"We text. It's moved from email to text," he told People. "We don't communicate that well, so it's better with text to leave emotion out of it. Really, all we're dealing with is just transportation and logistics."

Well now, he's entangled with another lawsuit- something the Gosselins have become familiar with over the last few years. In a detailed overview provided by the Associated Press Monday, it's revealed that both Gosselins have dealt with a series of issues involving their children, the police and even their marriage therapist. Included among their previous legal woes:

- Pa. investigates if the kid's TV spots violate child labor laws, after Kate's estranged brother voiced concerns.
- Jon threatens to seek primary custody of the kids because Kate's "Dancing With the Stars" stint made her an "absentee mother."
- Jon violates his contract with TLC after making appearances that were not fitting for the family-friendly network
- Someone ransacks Jon's NYC apartment- mysterious being slashes his furniture, steals his TV, leaves a scary note "pinned to his dresser with a butcher knife, according to his lawyer."
- Kate pleads guilty to driving 88 mph in a 65 mph zone. She tells police she was scrambling to get home to her kids.

The list of problems continues to grow.
