Jon Gosselin didn’t strip at Atlantic City show, says he ‘broke the Internet’

In something of an odd downer for fans hoping to catch a glimpse of Jon Gosselin in the buff, the former reality TV star reportedly didn’t actually strip at his advertised Atlantic City stripping debut on April 1.

Instead, Gosselin, 40, now claims that he “broke the Internet,” and donated some money to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital to boot.

The former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star promoted the appearance on social media last week, confirming with Entertainment Tonight that he would be an “integral part” of the Untamed Male Revue at Atlantic City’s Dusk Nightclub. The show, Gosselin said last week, was a way to mark his 40th birthday at the club, which he has worked at as part of the Senate DJ group.

While Gosselin did appear and perform several numbers with the Untamed Male Revue, the former reality star showed off his dancing rather than his physique. As ET reports, the father of eight performed fully-clothed dances to Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back,” Ginuwine's “Pony,” and Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy.” At one point, Gosselin did remove his shirt, but only to reveal a second shirt with a photo of six-pack abs on it, E! News reports.

“Hi, I’m Jon Gosselin and I just broke the Internet,” Gosselin said in a Facebook video explaining the event. “I messed with the media a little bit. I’ve been under media scrutiny for a good part of my life, and with filming and the media, it’s an editor’s decision how I’m portrayed. When it comes to the media, some are worse than others.”

“So why did I do this? Because I wanted to give myself the best 40th birthday present ever,” Gosselin continued. “I wanted my family and friends to be there, and why not have a huge party in an amazing venue?”

Gosselin went on to explain that he never specifically mentioned “stripping” in promoting the apperance, and added the Untamed Male Revue is a “choreographed male burlesque show” and “not a strip club.”

The former reality star also said in his Facebook video that he was able to use the night to raise funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Gosselin added that the “social experiment” made him realize that “planet Earth still cares about me.”

“St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital has always been near and dear to my heart. A couple of years ago, we had the chance to visit, and it has always been my go-to charity,” Gosselin said. “What started out as a great social experiment turned out to be an incredible experience, and I’m glad planet Earth still cares about me. Stay tuned for more in 2017. There is a lot more to come.”

Fans, meanwhile, reportedly took the performance well, with E! News writing that one woman even stuck a $100 bill down the former reality star’s pants.

“I know it’s not what you expected,” Gosselin reportedly told the crowd on Saturday, “but you guys are great.”
