Penn grad/hometown hero John Legend inked a deal with NBC's studio Universal Cable Productions, according the Hollywood Reporter. Under the deal, Legend, his partners (and fellow locals) Mike Jackson and Ty Stiklorius will develop shows under their Get Lifted Films banner for both broadcast and cable.
"Ty, Mike and I are really excited about working with UCP's Maira [Suro], Richard [Rothstein] and Chris [Sanagustin] and the entire UCP family as we take this next step forward in building Get Lifted. I believe we can do something really special," Legend said in a statement.
Legend's first foray into TV was the low-rated singing show "Duets." He's also working on a music show for Showtime.
