Page Six's Richard Johnson got ahold of Julius Erving upcoming memoir, Dr. J.

The excerpt he got is quite the doozy.

In the autobiography, Erving writes about the affair he had with sportswriter Stephanie Stevenson. Their union begat tennis star Alexandra Stevenson.

The good Dr. writes, "I can only remember one time that we actually had intercourse, and that was because she had just gotten this new orthodontia to straighten her teeth. With wire and gleaming metal bristling in her mouth, oral sex was not an option."

Well, then.

That's rather poetic, isn't it?

Dr. J hits stores Tuesday.
