Congratulations to Flyers owner Ed Snider and Lin Spivak, whom he began dating around March, who were recently engaged, Snider confirmed Thursday morning.

"We are very happy together," Snider said through Comcast-Spectacor spokesman Ike Richman. They declined to provide specifics but SportsInput.com reported recently that Snider proposed to Spivak at a "swanky restarant in Santa Barbara, CA,

The web site, which broke news of the engagement, says Comcast-Spectacor chairman Snider excused himself to the restroom at which point a group of singers came over and sang "Marry You" by Bruno Mars before Snider returned, getting down on one knee and proposing marriage.

Snider, 79, has been married three times, divorcing jewelry designer Christine Decroix in 2009. Spivak, 45, has been previously married as well.

No word yet on when or where the couple plan to wed.

Think of all the money you're saving!
(Do you honestly believe that nonsense about "money can't buy happiness"?)

This is why we need to create a new word other than marriage. I think in Ed’s case, like many others, it’s a legal arrangement. You do this for me (companionship, listen to my daily woe’s and occasionally maybe a little &##& ) and I do/give this to you. However the only way to seal the deal or to legitimize the “agreement,” in society is marriage.

"We are very happy together" roughly translates to her saying "We are having sex now. We need to hurry up and get married because I'm not going to want to have sex with this shrivelly old man much longer."

How come these guys always fall for the golddiggers? They must see it all the time but they still convince themselves, Yes, she loves me as a person and not for my millions.
