Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson revealed on Instagram that his mother Ata Maivia-Johnson and cousin Savelina “Lina” Fanene were involved in a head-on collision with a drunk driver earlier this week.

“My mom & cousin @linafanene were struck head on by a drunk driver this week – they lived,” the actor wrote on the post from August 10.

WWE Diva Fanene posted a picture of Johnson visiting her in the hospital, along with two more images that reveal a gauze bandage on her shoulder on August 8.

Johnson expressed his anger about the preventable accident when he wrote in the Instagram post, “First reaction is to find the person who did this and do unrelenting harm to them.” He ended the post, however, with more peaceful hashtags: #BearHugsAndGratitude, #100PercentPreventable and #ChoicesMatter.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving reports that a May 2014 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report revelealed that 10,322 people died in drunk driving crashes in 2012.
