Beyoncé fights back at Target and Amazon by shopping at Walmart, while giving back

Target wasn’t the only retailer to refuse the sale of Beyoncé’s new album; you can now add Amazon to the list too! Of course, this didn’t shy the singer away from promoting the sale of her latest elsewhere.

In true Queen Bey fashion, the singer went above and beyond by popping into a Massachusetts Walmart, a shopping chain that has been vocal about selling her album, on Friday night.

After picking out a doll for baby Blue Ivy and physical copy of her CD, she went on the store’s loudspeaker to deliver a surprise message: 

"It's Beyoncé! And I stopped by the store today because my record has arrived. I want to give everyone a gift. For everyone in the store right now, the first $50 of your holiday gifts are on me. Merry, merry Christmas from Beyoncé!"

Unbeknownst to her, the $50 gift cards made a huge difference for one group of shoppers who were there purchasing gifts for a local shelter. Volunteers from the Lazarus House are calling it a “divine intervention” because they were able to go above and beyond for those in need. “We were able to get more than what we went there for,” a woman told a local TV station. “We were helping out a guy who had been in the hospital who [had] all of his Christmas presents stolen.”

The store gave out a total of 750 $50 gift cards all of which were sealed in an envelope that said, “Happy Holidays from Beyoncé.”
