Atlanta judge slams Allen Iverson's parenting skills

An Atlanta judge put Allen Iverson in time out for his subpar parenting skills. Former Sixers great Iverson officially split from Tawanna Iverson a couple weeks ago, but TMZ has details on Iverson's custody agreement and the judge doesn't mince words when it comes to Iverson's parental history.

From TMZ:

[Iverson] does not know how to manage the children; has little interest in learning to manage the children and has actually, at times, been a hindrance to their spiritual and emotional growth and development.
For example, he has refused to attend to an obvious and serious alcohol problem, which has caused him to do inappropriate things in the presence of the children while impaired. He has left the children alone without supervision.
He has left his young daughters in a hotel room with men who are unknown to the mother.

Tawanna has full custody of the kiddies, while Iverson has visitation rights, although he has to abide by strict rules, including abstaining for alochol for 18 months (after the period is over, he can't drink for 24 hours of seeing his kids), attending AA meetings and seeing a shrink.

Tawanna and Allen have five children together and had been married since 2001.

Recently, Iverson has sought to rejoin the Sixers, but Bob Cooney thinks that Iverson should keep his memory intact, but remaining a memory.

"although he has to abide by strict rules, including abstaining for alochol for 18 months (after the period is over, he can't drink for 24 hours of seeing his kids), attending AA meetings and seeing a shrink." Yeah right. And Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are proud, card carrying members of the NRA.

wishful thinking camasbud and i cant fault you for such hope, but when the extent of his money problems were revealed late fall, i became thoroughly convinced that his story will end sadly. unless he rectifies his many faults, his downward spiral will inevitably land him in trouble with people you dont want to fall into trouble with. hopefully, he doesnt travel the dead-end path of hector camacho!

He has the same attitude toward parenting as he does toward practice. The guy is a stone cold disgrace.

Babies are just chattel. And soon what's left of the American taxpayer will be supporting, feeding and housing his kids.

Tawanna settled for $3,000,000? Iverson was making over $20,000,000 a year. How can you spend that much money? You can take them out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of them. Gotta spend every last dollar!!

Unfortunatly, you don't have to be mature to father a child. Children having children is a never ending cycle. Iverson's mother gave birth at age 15 and his father was never in the picture. You do, what you know! You reap what you sow!

This is very surprising, particularly in light of his ability to put a basketball through a metal rim.
