Saltzman said she ignored a warning from her doctor to get a mammogram follow-up in 2015. She was officially diagnosed Dec. 22.

"I thought I was too healthy to have cancer," Saltzman wrote. "I'm sure most people in my shoes think the same thing."

Saltzman has been with 6ABC since 2012.

PhillyVoice reported that Saltzman would undergo a double mastectomy.  “I hope women take their health seriously, and when they’re told, ‘You need to get a mammogram’ or ‘You need to get a repeat mammogram,’ go get it, because you really never know,” she told PhillyVoice. “You might think you’re the healthiest person and it can’t affect you. You may not have a family history, but it can affect you.”
